Title: "Check for updates" does, uhh... WHAT, exactly?

I am running MJ 3.0.318.  I can run "Check for updates" all day long, but it tells me there are no updates.  Funny, that, since MJ 3.0.329 is plainly available.

Is it just me, or does the "Check for updates" function just do a ping of some random server, and nothing more?

When we put a new build up, we wait a few days before broadcasting the news.  If you want to be on the bleeding edge, you can always check Interact.

Hi JimH - That makes total sense to me, except that the download page currently says 8.0.329.  Shouldn't the download page and "Check for Updates" be in sync, meaning scodan would get an update recommendation to go to 8.0.329 (but not to 8.0.331)?
