Title: Are the plugins installed or not?
Post by: LCtheDJ on July 17, 2002, 08:12:58 am
It seems like forever, that when I enter the Plugin Manager and look at the list of encoder plugins there are several of them displayed.  But when I click on some (mp3, ape, encoders) I get a popup message saying they are not installed, and asking if I would like to download them.  If they are NOT installed, why do they display as though they are?

Also on the subject of plugins - do plugins affect performance? If I don't use them, would I get better performance/stability by uninstalling them?

Also, I would like to conduct a little poll here.  Does anyone have or use the remote control that is installed by default? (rc_x10mp3.dll)

Just for convenience, so you don't have to go to our web site and download it.  When you select a plug-in in Plug-in Manager MJ will inquire you if you want to install the selected plug-in.  This way you see all available encoders and select the one you want.

Only Interface plug-ins can affect performance, and sometimes display plug-ins.

DSP plugins can also hurt performance, as they're always loaded.
