Title: Does Analyze Audio Alter Audio

I just ran Auto Import Library and noticed MC13 slowly running Analyze Analyze Audio on over 40,000 FLAC files.  Is this functioning altering the audio?  What is it doing?

It analyzes audio files for Replay Gain. It does not alter the audio content anyhow. By default it stores the resulting values to the library and to the specific file tags. After the files are analyzed the replay gain playback correction can be used when preferred. (Volume Leveling in DSP studio).

It is an optional process, but the setting is enabled by default in the auto-import options. It is also possible to run the analyzer manually at a desired time. (Library Tools > Analyze audio)

Apologies if I'm hijacking this thread but this is related.

I have a bunch of FLAC files that Foobar says have both track and album gain tags but MC13 still wants to analyze them. I thought that at some point MC had been changed to "see" the tags written by Foobar. Is there an issue with MC or am I doing something wrong?

The programs use different file tags for storing the information in FLAC files. Also the used reference volume is different and the replay gain values are not directly compatible. It has been discussed that MC could have a conversion system that would read and write the other tag format, but for now you just need to run the analyzer. The other, unrecognized replay gain tags will not be altered.

MC already has such a conversion system for MP3 files (ID3v2 tags) and it works fine.
