Using XP and the lastest version. When playing a CD using digital playback all we get is loud static. Changing to analog clears that up. But Ripping a song, even in analog, always results in nothing but static.
Using an HP SCSI CD with latest ASPI driver for XP (4.71).
ANy ideas? Why can't I play digitally?
-
there was a problem that did this in windowsXP.
I had the problem, i reinstalled windows XP.
some others reinstalled the orginal sound board drivers and it cleared up.
maybe the same problem?

What's your CD model number? Also check in device settings and see if the "Type" field is set to ASPI, not IDE.

Type is Aspi.
HP 9600i CD reader/writer.

Also, RealJukebox and MS Media Player have no problems.

Did you try reinstalling the sound card driver?
-
This is XP. There is no sound card driver install. The OS did it all.

OK, then maybe Microsoft can help. Sorry, but I don't know.
