Title: Removing artist From Album in Library View
Post by: stevenf on May 15, 2009, 02:29:20 am
I've asked this question before, but recieved no answer, so i'll try agian. Is there a way to remove the artist from an artists albums. Here is what i mean

Boston

Boston by Boston
Don't Look Back by Boston
Third Stage by Boston

What i want is this:

Boston

Boston

Don't Look Back

Third Stage... and so on. Can this be done, will it be added for those who may want it?

I hope this is understandable.

Thanks

Steven F

Do you mean you want to remove the Artist's name from each track's Album tags?  If so, use Tools->Library Tools->Find and Replace, and set the Find What field to be "by Boston" and leave the Replace field empty.  Select None and then select Album to affect only the Album tag.

If my memory serves me correctly, stevenf is talking about the group heading text for lists grouped by album.

ah.. in that case it is not so complicated.. when in customize view, choose bottom and then group by. you get a list with album wich gives album by artist. but when you choose album from more (sort groups a-z) it only gives the album name as group..

True, but that does not sort them chronologically.

stevenf, it would probably be more helpful if you found your other thread and bumped it to the top, then we would all know where we'd previously got up to :)
