Title: why can't I get my files into media editor?

I just started using Media Jukebox yesterday, and already I have a problem.

I have 45 minutes of wav files in a playlist. I need to edit them, filter out background noise, etc. But every time I try to move the files to media editor, I get little pop-up boxes that say:

downloading. package: plugin information. status: connecting...

failed to connect to a server. ok.

failed to download plugin info. ok.

decoding... pause. cancel.

I can never seem to actually get the files into the media editor.

I thought it might be because I am a little short on memory right now, but I don't know why that would have this effect. Any ideas?
