Title: INSTALL MC13: virgin system can't do "Portable" install
Post by: Stephen2001 on May 20, 2009, 10:29:21 am
I've installed MJ12 ..like it, want MC13.  ... BUT ..

I want/need "portable" install which error box says can't do without License.
  - yup...can't license without install

How can I install MC13 "portable" ? Any way to pre-stage license?

Thanks

-Stephen

Thanks for thinking about purchasing.  You may not need the Portable Install.  You can read about it here:
http://wiki.jrmediacenter.com/index.php/Portable_Drive_Installation

If you're installing for normal use, just install MC13 using the defaults.

Looks like trouble to do with my big lib (60gb)
...additionally updates are reported not to work. Who knows what else...

How else can I get the portable install method?

1) Could I do trail install of MC13, then license it then, without configuring it... reinstall it...something like that
2) Request install code mod for a license prompt or such?

If you truly need to do a Portable Install (and you haven't said enough for me to be sure), you do this.

1.  Install MC13 on your PC.
2.  Purchase.
3.  Do another install to a USB drive or similar.  This time choose Portable Install.
