I've bumped into a problem about the cover art - Quick find-possibility.
Here's two songs I've got:
Zangeres zonder Naam - Jongen.mp3
Zangeres zonder Naam - Jongens van 18 jaar.mp3
Their covers are (like all my covers) situated in the same directory with the following names:
Zangeres zonder Naam - Jongen.jpg
Zangeres zonder Naam - Jongens van 18 jaar.jpg
But when I ask MC13 (171) to Quick find the cover of Zangeres zonder Naam - Jongens van 18 jaar it comes up with the one of Zangeres zonder Naam - Jongen. In some way it appears like MC just looks at the first couple of characters of a name and then fills in the jpg.
When I manually add (Add from file) the right cover it integrates just fine.
Is it a bug?
Is it a feature?
Is it me?
Thanks in advance.

I'll add a quick find cover art oddity that I have found as well.
The quick find doesn't do well with multiple artists albums. My naming scheme has files saved as names like "(Multiple Artists) - Cartoon Classics.jpg". If I put in a multiple artists CD and go to the CD drives and devices view, the cover art for that CD is not found. It's as if it is looking for "various artists" or some other permutation of "multiple artists". It should probably look for all of the various permutations of names that MC uses for multiple artists.

Bump...
Anyone with an answer/solution?
-
Bump again.
Come on, guys. Surely there must be someone who can react on this?
-
Assuming you did a copy and paste of the names... I don't know. I don't think there's a limit on the number of characters that are compared.
A typo is the most likely reason.
-
I'm sorry to tell you, Jim, but to be sure I re-copy/pasted the mp3's filenames to their jpg's - so the names are identical. And still the longest title picks the jpg of the shorter one.
For test's sake I even tried this: take a totally other mp3 (other band, other music) and rename it to Zangeres zonder Naam - Jongens van 18 jaar.mp3 and then do the Quick find-thing: but again: it picks the jpg of Zangeres zonder Naam - Jongen.
This makes the 'Quick find'-option not reliable in my opinion. Can't you think of another thing that causes this bug?
-
Isnt cover art searches best suited for Album lookups? If you search just by using a filename, will it not find the best suited album cover with the closest matching artist and album name? Are you're album tag empty? That might give you problems.
-
It's true: I do not work with albums. I only 'collect' singles. But in the versions prior to MC13 everything went just fine.

... the longest title picks the jpg of the shorter one.
Is there a NAS drive involved?
-
No. But I do use a mapped external drive.

No. But I do use a mapped external drive.
Try creating a new library with a few local files. Just to test.
-
I'm not sure how to make a new library, but I did copy these two mp3's and jpg's in the folder C:\temp\test and then imported them.
But the result after 'cover art'-ing remains the same, as you can see in the screencapture I add. (and believe me: the jpg that belongs to the song 'Zangeres zonder Naam - Jongens van 18 jaar' is totally different).(http://C:\Documents and Settings\Mark\Bureaublad\Zangeres screencapture.jpg)
(mmm... image adding didn't work - how should I do this?)
And, Jim: is my problem mentioned in http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=52286.0 maybe related to this problem?

or you can find a host for your image somewhere on the net, like pix01 8). or click on the additional options at the corner below on the left side from the message you type. you can attach images there. but make sure you make them a bit smaller.
