At the french national day parade\march:
'cadets' from West Point opening the march
Fire men from New York with one of they truck
Fire men and they family guest of honor at the president garden party.

How do you take it?

You dont care-it is not a big deal-you even do not know about it-?

It is something you are happy about-you care about-you are sensitive-you appreciate?

Didn't know about it, but I take it as a message of solidarity between the two countries. Maybe a recognition that beyond the mutual sniping that takes place from time to time, there as a much more important common bond.

Or am I being overly optimistic?
