Title: [solved]Weird "copy Elements" window on "Play in Media Center"
Post by: dreamingof8a on June 03, 2009, 08:32:58 am
Hi!
Whenever I do a right-click in Windows Explorer and choose "Play in Media Center" a little dialogue window is openend for each single file titled "copy elemtns" and I have to click cancel for each file.
I'm pretty sure this behaviour is rathe rnew but I haven't been able to find out why it happens now ... any idea??

Cheers
Felix

That's not our message.  Maybe a DirectShow filter?  What file types are you playing?

just mp3. Funnily playback starts as normal once I clicked on cancel for one or more files. Di you know how to find out about this filter thing?

It's probably not a filter problem if it's an MP3 file.  Could be a virus checker, etc.  Try a google search for the exact error message.

thanks for that hint - I fixed it!

The problem is a shell-extension feature of Win XP, where yopu can add a "copy to ..." and "move to ..." link to the right-click menu of a file. Upon disabling those links with Tune Up Utilities it works fine now.

Cheers
