Title: Library server as a service?
Post by: YannisA on June 11, 2009, 11:06:56 am: It's obvious that when Windows restart during the night after an Automatic update, Library server is not run.
Is it possible to have the option to use Library server as a service loaded upon startup?

People have reported successes using a utility to start Media Server as a service. I've forgotten the name.

I had tried that utility previously without success, so that's why I asked. :'(

FWIW, if MC ran as a service it would actually be one of the better Windows Home Server add-ons and tap into that growing market.

It's Media Server that should be run, not Library Server.

Media Server will start Library Server when needed.
