Folks, if this question has been answered already...please put up with me as I do not see a clear answer after poking around on the forum for awhile. I purchased version 6 long ago and the .rrg file worked fine for version 7. When I "upgraded" my version 7 to 8 over the net, the program shows I am not a registered user. DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE VERSION 8 EVEN THOUGH I PAID FOR VERSION 6? Thanks to all.

Yes. We all did. 6 worked with 7 and 7 works with 8 and, presumably 8 will work with 9. But it's really not a lot to pay for what you get. You can also run the free version of 8 but without some nifty features. You can still play MP3's but not convert. I don't remember what else it does and does not do. Like you, I have been Plus since Version 6 and eagerly upgraded to 8. There's nothing else like it and for JRiver to keep it that way they need both new AND repeat customers.
