I think you can already do this with MC13 by setting up MC as a UPnP server and selecting the PS3 as the media server. I use this for music, but I think this is supposed to work for video as well. Not sure about the xbox.

Go to: Services & Plug-ins (this is in the tree on the left)

Expand the Services & Plug-ins and you will see UPnP Server, click on that.

On the center section of the screen you will see 2 buttons, Start Server and Options. Go to Options.

Under Options, go to Receiver. Set it to Advanced. There are a series of check boxes under receiver, turn them all off except: Allow Visual Content and DLNA. Click on OK.

Click on Start Server.

This should be all you have to do on MC.

Now go to the PS3.

Go to Settings-->Network and make Media Server Connection is enabled

You can now Search for Media Servers. This is under Audio, Video, and pictures. Pick from anywhere.

With luck, MC will now show up on your PS3. Click on it and navigate to your content. You can pick it under Pictures, Audio or Video.

This all assumes both your PC and PS3 are on the network. I have both of mine connected to a wireless network.

Note: if you do not have a fast network, the videos will be choppy.

Good luck.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I'm not sure as I don't play these types of files. I would suggest 3 things:

1) Copy the file to the PS3 and see if you can play it without streaming. If you can, and you already verified you can play them with MC, then it appears possible to do what you are trying to do.
2) I read somewhere that you can rename the file to drop the s. That is change the extension from .m2ts to .m2t. If this does not work, you can always change it back.
3) Try a Google search on m2ts ps3 and you may find some other tips.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

My pleasure. MC works great with the PS3. If you have a large library it's almost impossible to find what you want by navigating through folder structures. With MC you can use all of your views. Pretty slick. My favorite for audio is artist artist album album.

Mata7,

You said you have been doing this since MC11, and that you like how MC organizing music by Artist, Album, Genre, etc.  I set this up but I cannot figure out how to play by album, artist or genre, only individual songs.  Can you explain how you play an album, or add an album to what is currently playing via the PS3?

Scott

We've got some improvements for XBox and PS3.  Please see this thread (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=54719.0).
