Title: Where is the option to play pictures in Playing Now?

I want to double-click on an image and have it open in Playing Now instead of full screen. I thought for sure there was a setting to do this in Options > Playback, but I can't find anything there relevant to images. I looked at every menu (right-click menus included) and can't find it!

I'm tagging photos, and I'm using split view. I have my tagging pane open as well as Playing Now. The only way I can think of to see the image I want to tag is to send it to Playing Now, and tag it in the other open view. (I know that if I hover long enough the image will appear as a pop-up, but when I am in full tagging mode, I don't want to wait around for a pop-up).  But everytime I double-click on the image it goes full screen!
