I know that you can sync the play stats from the iPod on connect, but I'm wondering if it is possible so that these stats can be uploaded to last.fm, similar to how you can using iTunes or WinAmp. If it isn't possible, does anyone know another third party program that is capable of this?
-
JRiver doesn't do that. I'm using lastPod instead and it's working well.
You will need to close J River, connect your ipod and launch lastPod. Once your play stats are submitted to last.fm, close lastPod and launch J River to get the play stats in the J River database.

or you can use last.fm's own software.

I'm not following how this is supposed to work, either. Play stats sync fine from the iPod to MC 13 but nothing played on the iPod itself gets scrobbled to last.fm, only tracks played within MC get scrobbled.

MC doesn't handle reporting to last.fm what is played on portable devices.
On my iphone, I use an app called scrobbler, so my iphone itself does the reporting to last.fm.
lastpod is a program you can install on your desktop which you run after connecting your ipod to the computer, but before running MC. lastpod handles submitting songs played on the ipod to last.fm's database.

Lastpod works alright. Rockbox keeps a log that can be uploaded. I think the general consensus is that we'd all like this feature included in MC sometime soon. ;D

Brand new IPOD Nano 5th gen. Had version 14.0.81? could not recognize the Ipod. Upgraded to 14.0.101. Now I can push stuff to the ipod, but even after eject, I can't see any music on the ipod. Am I missing something? It doesent seem to be building the media library on the ipod.
What up?

Somebody needs to rewrite the last.fm plugin so we can all stop using lastpod!

agreed. this definitely seems to be one of the last roadblocks to attract itunes users. i know it isn't an feature of itunes per se, but it's so widely used.
