OK, finally yesterday I specified for every track of every one of my approx 1,000 albums a disc #.
Each track from a single disc were tagged disc # =1, tracks from a second disc in a set were tagged disc# = 2, etc.
I now want to save three separate searches in relation to multiple disc albums:
1. show me all albums that have multiple discs ( I all ready have this working) total count is 94.
2. show me all albums that have 3 or more discs ( I all ready have this working) total count is 20.
3. show me all albums that have 2 discs exactly ( for the life of me I cannot get this to work with a search list, do I need an expression?) total count is 74.

Use the rule for three or more discs to create a seperate smartlist, then create a rule for your search list that....
- excludes all tracks in that smartlist: Playlist | Is Not Any | pick your list from the dropdown
- then searches for tracks with a [disc #] value of 2: [disc #] | Is | 2
- and finally, under modifiers, expand to full albums.
