Title: DVD Playback from External Hard Drive

can not play movie from USB external Hard Drive.  Just says "Waiting"   Any sugestions?

Hi
I got the same problem.
Seems that Vista won't play any Vob from external hard drive because this is
a removable drive.
I found a solution.
You have to create a junction to a folder on the external drive.

use cmd and write (from a local drive):
mklink /J movies f:\movies

Vista will create a new "virtual" folder with this new folder you can play
all DVD files.

I don't understand why only a few of us have a problem. There must be lot's of people storing DVDs on an external USB drive, and lot's of people using Vista.

Bumping this one.  Seems that it works with the portable install but not the normal install.
