Title: Different procedure to update MC14
Post by: YannisA on July 24, 2009, 09:42:00 am
I'm using MC14 on my laptop and on 2 more pcs at home.
Yesterday, when I loaded MC 14.029 on my laptop, it notified me that there was an update available. So I proceeded to download. During installation however (express mode), i received the message that "the program cannot be installed on top of an existing installation" and it required to install it in a different folder. I stopped the install.
The same happened when I runned MC 14.029 on my htpc at home, with a great difference. The install program completed successfully, without asking for a new folder to install the update. Same (with htpc's) behavour, with the other pc at home. Any explanation why this can happen?

Have you tried the latest 14.0.34 ?

The built in updater seems to use an earlier version by a release or two, probably JRiver's most stable version (they are aware of).

All pcs were running 14.029 and all tried to upgrade to 14.034 through the built in program.
The one that required a different folder to installl, was my laptop. (?)
