Hi,
I have put a Some folders on my HD
My question is why is my library showing an IFO and a VOB for the same folder?
How do I fix this?
Thanks

This is a great question and I am anxious to read the answer.
I wonder how your file structure is set up.
Do you have a folder that has the name of a movie in DVD format, then have two subfiles, audio_ts and video_ts ?
Do you have several VOB files in the video_ts folder ??
Also, there should be two IFO files inside the video_ts folder, do you have two ?
I wonder if the selection of the IFO file, will play the entire video and that if there are several VOB files, it might be allowing for an individual to be played, rather than the entire video.

Yes several Vob files and several IFO files

The key is to place all your vob, ifo and bup files for each DVD rip under its own VIDEO_TS folder. Then, import the main ifo file called "video_ts.ifo". As long as you setup your rips based on this file structure, MC will represent each one as a single ifo file.
I experienced a bunch of similar issues recently. This solved all my problems.
Hope it helps.

Hello,
I Have 14 dvd rips in 14 folders named TBAA S1 TBAA S2 etc.
What else do I have to do with them.
Thanks heaps for your help

Ok. So just create a "VIDEO_TS" folder under each of your "TBAA Sx" folders and move all the dvd files relating to that RIP into it. Then, remove your existing DVD's from MC and re-import the main ifo(s) from each VIDEO_TS folder as I explained above.

Now can you tell me why there is no Duration?
Weeell, let's think. Duration of what? The menus, the movie (assuming it's a DVD with a movie), the extras, the easter eggs, the studio intros, the FBI warnings in 3 languages...? Take your pick, everything has a duration. The sum of all these? That wouldn't be representative for anything and anybody.
On a DVD you have multiple files that have an internal structure, logic and many other things. The main movie is just a part of all that.

mmmm rather sarcastic reply I thought.
a simple what duration do you mean or if you cant be nice dont bother at all.
I was asking about the length of the dvd movie.
I have name genre comment duration file type in standard view and most have a duration but some dont I was asking if there is some reason why not.

I also would like to see duration of main movie captured by MC. Current stats are badly broken if you have a lot of dvds in your library. An alternative (and perhaps simpler) solution would be to allow us to edit the duration field so we can enter whatever duration we are interested in.
Same arguments apply to size since only size of ifo is currently captured.

Hello
Thank you for the nice reply and explanation.
Now I understand why the ifo duration is blank
