Recently MC 13 began crashing when connecting a camera or other USB device. Sometimes I can transfer images, but then it crashes, other times it will crash as soon as I connect.
When I try and restart MC, I get the splash page, but nothing else. When I look at processes it shows that MC 13 is running. I typically have to re-boot to get it MC back up.
I tried uninstalling/ reboot reinstalling, but to no avail...
Any idea what's up?
P.S. Running v.172

Maybe you're running two copies?
Did you try a different USB port? Different cable?
Try using MC Options/Handhelds/Redetect Devices.
-
I did try different cables and USB, but it did not make a difference.
It is even happening with my MP3 player now. :'(
As for the second problem, I have it set in the options to not allow more than one copy to run at once, so I don't think that's it. It is almost as though MC doesn't completely shut down when it is forced to close due to non responsiveness.
Anything else I can try?

If you run Media Server, when you close MC, it shrinks itself down to a very small footprint and runs as Media Server.
Check the right side of the TaskBar for the Media Server icon. Right click to close.
But this sounds more like a hardware problem.
Did you try "redetect devices"?
-
No Media server icon. Really strange.
I had a hunch it may be a hardware problem, but hoped that it wasn't.
Good news is that I was able to get pictures loaded, and sync my MP3 player after a number of tries (more indication that it's probably hardware).
Do you know of any diagnostic tools I can run to check my hardware?
Thanks for you help

I don't, but try google for similar problems.
