Hi
I have set up a library server which i have no trouble connecting to ( site-to-site vpn connection ). However, when i play a audio file ( FLAC ), it plays for about 2-3-4 seconds then stops, i can push play again and same story....
Anyone have a good idea where to look?
Regards / John Liljenberg

It sounds like the bandwidth is not enough to provide continuous playback. In MC's Options for "Library and Folders" on the client side, you can tell MC to convert to a lower bitrate file type like MP3 VBR.

Hi
Bandwith would not be a problem since i can stream 720p video over the same link..... =)
Thanks for the tip otherwise =)

From the same location? At the same time?
Try conversion to see what happens.

That gave no results, perhaps it starts playing a little later and only plays for 1-2 secs....
thanks for the tip, however, bandwith is not the issue.... :(
do you know how to turn on verbose logging ( if it exists? )

If you're playing at an office location, it is possible that there is a limit on your connection.
I can't imagine what else it could be. MC won't hesitate like that.
Library server has logging, but I don't think you'll see anything there.
MC client has logging under Help.

Server is placed in a hosting centre with direct connection to the fiber backbone, that is connected by a site-to-site vpn connection to my home which is a 50mbit cable connection.
Checked the Log, however i cannot find anything of relevance there ( no errors it seems like ), i could download the file from the same http address the player lists in the logfile ( 5mbyte/s )

Hi
I had MC13 installed at my home server also, so started the library server there also, same story, plays for about 2-4secs, then stops....
client computer is Windows 7 RC

Can you play the file locally?
Is the build of MC the same on both sides?
Virus checker?

Think i found the problem, i use a plugin called Catwalk to send music to my Linn DS, however, even if you choose direct sound device its still doing something, and as a result it only plays a couple of seconds.... =)
