I want to turn off UI animations e.g. on button mouse over, and other display effects such as the gradient fills. It has been suggested changing skin might do this.
Can anyone suggest a skin that would do this? Thanks.

Please read a few threads. This topic came up in the last month. I'm not sure where it is but try searching.

I have done.

I found plenty about faulty/jerky animations, but none about disabling them.

"animations" finds two pages but no answer.
This is on XP, BTW.

What is the problem you see?

As I said,

and can find no way to do this.

You can turn off "tooltips" in MC's Options. Options has a search window at the top.

The animations are just MC fading from one skin item to another, there's no way to turn it off. Windows Media Player does the same thing. I don't know why you'd want to turn it off.

I don't know why chrisjj is complaining about animations, but I'd like too an option to turn them off.
Some of them are, imho, not very good-looking, some of them are annoying.

OK - thanks.

Please be specific. It isn't practical to make the entire program configurable.

Just to clarify - I didn't complain about the animations. I am sure they are fine for people who like them - just not for those that don't.

I don't see anyone asking for that. But since the point of skinnability is surely to make the UI appearence configurable, it would be nice if that extended to the animations.

Gotta run now, because I'm leaving right now for a 4 week vacation. I will, when I'm back in September.

I've asked for specifics several times and I'm not seeing any. I'll lock this thread now.
