Title: replace illegal characters. MC13 vs MC14

Is there an Options setting for automatic replacement of illegal characters in filenames?  I just upgraded to MC14 (from MC13) yesterday. 

I am using the rename/move function with directories setting as:  E:\_[Genre]\[Artist]\[Album]

I have files with the genre tagged as "Rock/Pop" and get the following results:

example MC13 results = E:\_Rock_Pop\Beatles\Help\Help.mp3

example MC14 results = E:\_Rock\Pop\Beatles\Help\Help.mp3

The desired result for me is from MC13.

Note that the MC14 result is creating an unwanted subdirectory called "Pop".

I've scoured the MC13 and MC14 Options settings and can't seem to find anything regarding illegal character replacement.

Any thoughts?

Looks like a bug, that. I'd expect it to be fixed once the devs have read your post.

I also noticed this change in MC14 behavior. Hoping that MC13 behavior is restored.

This was recently reported as a bug in the other direction I believe.

I would say that MC 14 seems more correct although it's a gray area.

I wonder if using an expression function like: ListItem([Genre], 0, //)\ListItem([Genre], 1, //) would work instead?

I don't think either way is a *bug* ... It might be more nice, however, to have some reporting on what it's doing with those illegal characters so we don't get unexpected results.

I wonder if J River would consider a place in the rename dialog to specify what illegal characters get replaced with what?
Or even a popup stating - "the resultant expression contains an illegal character - what would you like to do?" ... and provide an option

I'm not sure why you'd want to translate a forward slash within a field as an instruction to create a new folder. If it's not a bug, then it is completely unintuitive.
