Title: can't get correct volume information?

ever since i ripped a disc, no matter how many times i reinsert it it yells at me that "media jukebox has detected a new cd in drive E: but can't get the correct volume information. please try ejecting and reinserting the cd."
what gives?

You might try a reboot.  This means Windows itself is having problems reading the disc.
