Hi!
I tried to import some .mkv files yesterday and today, and all that appears in the recently imported playlist is an empty unknown file with no tags. If I play the file from explorer it plays fine. If I then go to playing now the file name and everything looks normal, but if I right click the file there and select "import into library", the name and everything disappears, saying it's an unknown file. In the tag editor there's nothing either, so it's impossible to change the media type.
Anyone else experience this? The files are on a usb hard drive always connected, and I have many other files in the same folder that imported correctly. I've tried several new files from independent sources with the same result.
I have MC 14.050 installed on Windows XP Pro SP2.

MKV is a container. MC may not be able to read the file contained.
Please try the wiki (link above). There is an article on DirectShow you could read.

I know it's a container. As I said it plays the file fine from windows explorer, and I have imported hundreds of similar mkv's with the exact same codec/format earlier, the importing just suddenly stopped working after I installed the latest version. And I've tried several files so I know it's not just one corrupt file.

What DirectShow filters do you use to handle these?
If you use CCCP pack, try doing a settings reset on CCCP settings wizard. It sounds like your DirectShow gets messed up.

Found the fault...my system disk, which holds my library, was full. Once I cleaned up and got some free space, it's working like before :) Sorry to bother you guys with a stupid user fault like this :/

Not a problem. Thanks for letting us know.

At least someone else knows what's wrong if they encounter the same problem and read this :)
By the way is there a way to control where the library file is placed? I can alter the location of the library backups in the options, but I can't see an option to change the location of the library itself.
