The title describes the issue pretty well. I had originally set the UPnP server (running on a 64-bit Windows 2008 machine) to convert files "if necessary". When used with our Roku Soundbridges no WMA files would play. However, when I changed the UPnP server setting to "Don't Convert Audio" I had no problem playing the WMA files. My version of MC is 13.0.132.
As a result this is not a problem for me, but it is something J River may want to look into.
Note this was a problem with MC13 as well. See http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=50956.0 (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=50956.0)
BTW, I ran into this problem after installing MC14, because all of the server options needed to be changed from the defaults. When installing over a previous version of MC, why not import all of the server (and other settings) as well so that they do not need to be recreated?

I suspect the underlying issue has to do with MC assuming that Windows Media Player is already installed, which it is not be default for Windows Server 2008.
To install Windows Media Player under Windows Server 2008, the Vista User Experience feature must be installed. More here: http://thunor.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!71C238B5E0E3724D!2242.entry?&_c02_vws=1 (http://thunor.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!71C238B5E0E3724D!2242.entry?&_c02_vws=1)
