With this build I had to "re-learn"..... or I guess "re-teach" my remote. After I got it working again, I noticed the capability to change the volume in MC was gone. Not a real problem but I have to pick up my receiver remote to adjust volume. But I'd like to understand what has happened here.
-Is the MC volume still set at 80% as I have it set in options?
-Did MC disable volume because it "knows" it is running audio through the SPDIF?
-Does this have something to do with the new remote setup?
Thanks.

If no volume slider is shown, it means there's no volume available for the current device or output method. For example, hardware-direct outputs like ASIO often work this way.
You can use 'Internal' volume mode (in the Volume menu) for audio.
This is unrelated to remote setup.
