I've just installed the trial of MC14. After scanning my media files, it informs me of "errors tagging and moving"!
I have over 30k music files, and it reported less than 300 as write-protected!
I have spent 100s of hours tagging these files correctly.
Even though I chose custom installation, there was no indication that MC would change any of my files.
The default options selected made it sound to me as though I was only providing feedback to JRiver.

There was a bug in an earlier version of v14 that could incorrectly show these errors if you imported ripped DVDs. Nothing was actually changed. It was fixed in build 57.
Media Center makes no automatic tag changes.
Cover art will be downloaded for files with no art, but this can be disabled in Options > Library & Folders if you prefer.
