Title: External Drive as Handheld taking forever to scan....

I enabled my external hard drive as a handheld in MC14 and it's taken about 4 hours (still not done) to read the contents. When I click on the device it, just says "Working...". Resource monitor shows it accessing each of the tracks on the drive, albeit, sllooowly. Never had this problem on MC13.

Any ideas?

It has to build a database that it'll store on the root of the drive the first use.  After that, it should be much faster.

If you're just playing files, you'll get better performance importing the files into the main library instead of working with them as a handheld.
