Hi,
Every time I reboot my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 machine I get the following message from when I try to launch MC14...
'Media Centre was installed for a different operating system. Please reinstall Media Centre'.
If I reinstall and then install any updates, everything works fine until the next time I re-boot and then the same thing.
I am using the retail version of Win 7 (I am an MSDN member).
Anyone else had this issue?
Regards

I am also running MC on Win 7 Ultimate x64 Retail. I have no such problems.
Are you running in some kind of compatibility mode? Did you do an upgrade install of Windows or a clean install? Did you install in an Admin acct?

Hi - thanks for your reply.
Win 7 was an in-place upgrade. I reinstalled MC14 after the upgrade. It is not running or installed in any compatibilty modes and was installed under the administrator account.
It seems to be a problem AFTER I upgraded to 14065 via the in-application upgrade facility - before that everything was working OK.
As a precaution I have uninstalled MC14 and done a clean install using the 14065 exe rather than via the upgrade. I am going to reboot now to see if this has fixed the problem!!

I'm betting that will fix it.
Personally, I have never done an upgrade install of an OS. I always install clean, install updates, then immediately make an image of the install. I'm kind of anal about my system. About every 6 months I will wipe the drive clean then reapply the image for a fresh start.

Same issue after reboot.

Please let us know what the registry was set to before changing it.
Thanks!
