I am an owner of MC13 and recently one day, a pop up said that there was a new update, so I downloaded it and installed it. Now, when I start Media Center, yes, it's 14 but it's asking me to purchase or continue trial.
This isn't the right way to deal with existing customers. I should not be falsely led that there is an 'update' (which I assumed to be free) and then told later that I have to purchase it. MC13 should not automatically download and install a PAYABLE upgrade !
Now, what do I do? Am I forced to purchase the upgrade?
Sincerely,

Just uninstall MC14. Reinstall MC13 if you need to. You can find it on our wiki under "Old Versions".
The message on the update said that it was a paid upgrade, by the way.

Jim,
Well, if it did say it is a paid upgrade, it wasn't clearly visible. But maybe my eyes weren't open. I will buy the upgrade as I always do...

Thanks for your understanding. I'm sorry you were surprised.

How do I stop that upgrade message appearing every time I start MC?
I want to be informed about upgrades to the version I have currently (13), not notified about new versions which I have to pay for.

There will be no more upgrades of MC13.
You can stop the check for updates in options. It's under Startup.
