Title: Playing .m4a files ignores "Playback | Audio | Output mode" setting
Post by: muchadhesion on October 10, 2009, 07:48:35 am
I think the .m4a file renderer is ignoring the set output plugin, and using the "Direct Sound" mode instead.

All my .mp3 and flac files seem to be obeying the output mode.

I'm using v14.0.71 / XP SP3

By default, MC will use the Quicktime engine to play m4a files.  Any MC settings for playback will not be used in this case.

...and, if you have the needed DirectShow filters, you can choose "JRiver audio engine (using DirectShow)" as your playback method.  The output plugins will then work.  The settings are in Tools > Options > File Types.
