I'm trying to burn a CD with MP3 files from a playlist, and I want the playlist sequence to be respected. I've tried several options but the CD always comes out with the files in alphabetical order by filename. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong???
I would appreciate some help on this or at least some directions on where to look for an answer!
Thanks...
I'm running version 14.0.71

Under Burn Disc ->Options, select CD File Naming. Then choose Custom. Enter the rule for the way you want the files named and check the box for Prefix the list order to the CD filename
After you've done that, click on Details to make sure the disk structure and order is the way you want it.
Another option, but I'm not 100% sure it works, is to Right Click the Playlist (in the tree) and select Send To->Drives and Devices->Burner. I think the sequence is kept. If so, this is easier than the above instructions.
EDIT: As Alex noted below, this shortcut option probably won't work, but using the "Prefix the list order" option should be fine.

MC burns the files in the defined order, but that doesn't matter. Since the disc is a data disc, not an audio disc, the read order is defined by whatever device or software is used for reading the disc. Normally the files are displayed in the alphabetical order.
As BullishDad said, you can use the "prefix list order" setting.
