Title: Last.fm plugin stopped working
Post by: Phydeaux on October 20, 2009, 11:36:04 pm
When I try to view the Last.fm plugin I get the error message: "Interface plug-in 'last.fm' could not be found or created."

How do I reinstall the plugin? I can only seem to find the "Last.fm DJ" on the plugins download page. Will a reinstall of MC help?

Currently using 14.0.71

MC14 has a Last.fm plug-in as part of the build.  Go to the Plugin Manager to see its status.  You may have to start it.

I "Hid" it and then "showed" it and got the same error once again. I shall try a reinstall with the latest .84 version.

I don't know if this applies in your case, but Interface plugins are only supported with regular installs, not portable installs of Media Center.

Not using a portable install here. Good news is that an install of the latest version seems to have fixed it.

Also checked another PC installed with 14.0.71 and last.fm plugin not working there either. Not sure if that is useful to you. I'm just happy it is working now :)

I just installed MC 14 over the weekend (.121) and just noticed it wasn't scrobbing.

I am getting the same error mentioned above...  "Interface plug-in 'last.fm' could not be found or created.", when I click on it under "Services & Plug-ins".

In the Plug-in Manager, it is listed and says Version 1.0.0.11.

Any ideas how to get this fixed?

Need to bump this, as last.fm is fairly important feature to me.

A little more on my particular problem.  I installed 14 (purchased last weekend as upgrade), while 13 was still installed.  After using 14 for a day or two without any issue (didn't actually check last.fm at the time), I uninstalled 13.

Here is a screenshot of what happens if I click on the last.fm plugin under Services & Plug-ins:

Try installing again with admin rights.

Try installing again with admin rights.

I have admin rights, but I just re-installed .121 again over the existing installation and it works.  Gosh I feel stupid for a solution so easy.  I guess sometimes we overlook the most obvious thing to try.

Thanks for the support.  I'm a little late joining the v14 crowd.
