Title: Aero Snap and 64 bit
Post by: Matt22 on October 24, 2009, 03:31:34 am
First question is to do with Windows 7. Are you adding support for Aero Snap?

Second question is a bit more lengthy.

I was just wondering but is there going to be a 64bit version? I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and it has installed into a folder called Program Files (x86) and even though it runs fine, there is an unsightly *32 in Task Manager beside it and every app that is 32bit.

So I'm asking around at every forum and emailing customer support for every software I have that does this and asking the same thing..Are there plans for there to be a 64bit version?

Aero Snap isn't here yet, Aero Glass effects have just been introduced and have one or two quirks to be ironed out still, but despite that, looks good already....

As for the 64bit question, perhaps have a read of this (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=53805.0), see what glynor has to say on the subject, then ask yourself how important the aesthetics of the Task Manager list really is to you.
If you have any further questions regarding 64bits, it might be more helpful if you post in that "64 bit processing" thread, as it will help keep the "Q&A"s from becoming fragmented across the forum.

edit: gappie quicker on the draw this morning :D

Ah. Ok. Fair enough then.

And when you say Aero Snap isn't here yet, does that mean you're working on it?

Us? Well, kind of.... if you consider badgering JRiver to add it sometime soon as 'working on it', then yes, we are...

There's another thread around here somewhere, with a contribution from Matt, that discusses the new windows seven aero features and MC's lack thereof.
