Title: 5.1 - No Sound

I switched the 5.1 on and I'm not getting any sound.  I've selected output sound as dolby digital and sample sources.  I have an external soundcard with spdif and it's hooked up to my receiver with 5.1 decoder onboard.  In fact when I select this setting my audio for the entire computer goes out.  Can't get anything.

Do you get the same error message as I get?

Apparently the DD encoding > SPDIF option works only with certain devices. Please use the linked thread for replies.

No help on the other thread either...which is not surprising given the lack of support I haved received to date.

Anybody that could help would be greatly appreciated.  Or if anybody has a similar problem post as well and maybe that will get the attention of those who can help us.
