Title: this device is not compatible with the subscription service
Post by: stil_learning on November 18, 2009, 06:11:21 pm
Hi all,

I like the addition of the store. But I would like to have a list of compatible devices.
When I try to sync with my cowon D2 in media center I get the message that this device is not compatible with the subscription service.
If I just add it through Drag and Drop outside MC then I don't get this message but when I try to play them on the D2 it says that my license is expired.
My device is wma compatible.

A subscriber of the portable option in his trial period.

Can someone tell me with absolute certainty which devices are compatible with performer store in MC 14?
I'm considering buying either Iriver clix2 or a creative zen model.

Thanks for your advice.

Koen

Are you putting the device into USB "MTP" mode when you connect it?  Subscription tracks won't work without it.

Also, what's the firmware version on your D2?  It looks like 2.30 was the first to support subscription drm and there have been several updates since then.  You may want to format and update to the latest firmware and then try again.

Can my Android phone handle the portable service?

Yes that should work fine.  Jim's been using the Android for quite a while.

EDIT: Jim's right, it won't handle the portable subscription files.  I totally spaced out about the fact that Android is running Linux.

I don't believe it will work with the Performer subscription though.  I don't think it supports Windows Media DRM.
