I have just spent a frustrating 20mins trying to get .101 to play an mp3 audio file, something that I do fairly infrequently, and failed. It can play WMA, it can play any sort of video including that with mp3 soundtracks, but not .mp3 audio files. If I downgrade back to .94 everything is back to normal and works fine.
From the logs CMJWaveFeeder::Thread has thrown an exception after the file open but with no indication of what the exception actually was. On screen I get a popup dialogue saying the file couldn't be opened or was corrupt, but the file(s) are most certainly not corrupt. At that same point in the trace on .94 I get the message "CMJWaveFeeder::Thread: Setting Output Format" followed by a load of trace about the file contents.
OS is Vista 32 Home, using WASAPI, although it doesn't actually get to the point of opening the WASAPI system in the failure case.
Obviously this cannot be a generic problem otherwise everyone would be screaming blue murder by now. Any ideas other than try installing again?

Bad file? Try some other files just to test.

Nope as I said not corrupt; it failed on multiple files and those files play fine in .94 and in windows media player.

Have you looked at your settings in DSP??

Whatever the glitch was, it has disappeared again in .106 , everything back to normal now. Ho Hum.
