Title: Can I spread files over multiple Hard Drives ?
Post by: marcustylor on November 27, 2009, 05:43:20 pm
My hard drive is full, if I add another drive then how do I spread the files across the two ? I don't wish to sound like an idiot, but do I have artists 'A - M' on the first drive then 'N - Z' on the next drive ? Could get messy I think !

I await your conclusion !!

Thanks,

Marcus

Sure - I have my files over multiple drive and in no particular order.  MC presents these files by the entries in the Database/Tags so you don't even have to worry about the A-M on one and N-Z on another - just tag them correctly and for instance you can then browse your music by Genre/Artist/Album

Ah ok, I'm with you, just have duplicate artist folders on each drive if need be. Thanks.

If you want to move any files, try it from within MJ.  Right click on a few files and choose Library Tools/Move Copy Rename.  Try a few before you do very many.
