as you can see on left hand side under audio it's nice and neat and small, Albums, Artists, Genres. but under genres it shows all the artists again? is there away to hide all that Via customize view? so that connected media, playing now, will be under genres unless i choose to expand it?
It Makes scrolling take a Very LONG Time for those of us who have alot of artists!?

Clicking on any tree branch should collapse/expand it.
How long does it take to scroll through 21,776 artists? :o ;)

it doesnt :( if i click on tree artists, genre, albums it expands\collapses, but under genres it still shows all artists? can't get those to disappear?
alot of double artists. not done tagging it. but getting there :)

Looks like it's from the Audio. I would r-click Audio and pick Customize View. Look on the right hand side under options and clear the Support Tree Browsing check box.
If you want the artist to show I would add some groupings to make it more manageable.

when you say if i want artist to show add some groupings... what do you mean? why would one need that when artists is already there? just so I know. I may like it!

Under Customize view > Show Categories In This Order.

I have 2 fields called Artist: Main. The 1st is grouped and the 2nd isn't. Selecting the 1st Artist: Main field and pressing edit I get

Down at the bottom the grouping field is checked and the size is set to 1. If I have the Support Tree View checked it will look like this

This allows you to manage your artist a lot easier.
I personally don't use the tree view. I like Panes ;D
