Ever since I went to 14.0.96, when I try to burn a disc, I get the error message:
Can't start the write.
I can burn erase/burn discs with other software such as CDBurnerXP. I checked the settings in MediaCenter. It points to the correct CD/DVD burner. I clicked "Redetect" to see if that would change anything and still the same problem. I rebooted.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
TIA
Pierre

No idea, but try build 111 from the top of this board.

If you are trying to burn from M4A or AAC Audio sources, there was a recent bug fixed that prevented these burns from working. The build containing this fix hasn't been released yet, but I'm sure it'll be out within a few days.

I'm trying to burn plain MP3 files. I uninstalled/reinstalled with no change. I have build 111 and still no change.
It's the error message that concerns me "Can't start the write". It's like MC14 cannot control the DVD burner properly.

I am having this same issue.
It burns data disks o.k. ... but
trying to burn Audio disks gives
this error. Can't Start The Write.
Is there any fix for this yet?
I am on version 14.0.155

What type of files are the source?

I had a couple of different file types. However, that was not the issue. I have
identified it as a bad reference path for one of the files. I understand that
would cause a problem, but the error message was certainly not
specific enough to give a clue where to look. Once I corrected
the path, it burns fine, even with the different file types.
Back in business .. thanks ;D
