It says they have sued about 30,000 individuals.  The article also says that most of them have settled out of court.  Do you think the out of court settlement just covers their own legal expenses?  Can this be a viable money maker for the RIAA to just keep suing people?  While I badmouth the RIAA a lot, I am also against illegal music downloading.

I think they settle for around $3000.  I believe they have the right to sue.  It is their content.

The guy in the link Matt mentioned didn't really believe they would pursue him.  He was wrong.

Both sides in this issue should show a little respect for the other.
