Title: Crashing video on fast forward and rewind

When I fast forward or rewind video on MC running on Windows 7 with the default decoder and AC3Filter, MC will lose the video playback over time.  Usually after about 10 - 30 seconds of fast forwarding MC will switch to playing 0:00.  This also happens during normal playback every 5 hours of playback (very approximate guess).  Any ideas?
