Title: Grouping Images by EXIF Date rather than File Date
Post by: danvm on December 20, 2009, 01:11:46 pm
Is there a way to force MC14 to use the EXIF date of an image rather than the file date?

When selecting Images | Dates, the default views are Shortcuts, Year, and Month. I would like to be able to select a year and see all the photos belonging to that year based on the EXIF Date rather than the File Date as many of my images are from scans.

The Date field is filled from the EXIF date, not the file system date.  Is it possible there is no EXIF date in the images?

This is another huge area where the ability to apply an EXIF date tag using MC would be of enormous benefit.

Currently, I have to use a third party tool to write the EXIF dates for scanned images and it's a pain. MC really needs to be able to do this job.
