JRiver is very good and I have media jukebox on my living room HTPC...and I love it !!!
but
I have 2 other PC's in another room one of which I use as a testing rig (most times easier than the HTPC)
I only used JRiver for music only which it does very, very well and I only use it on the living room HTPC.
Well I had installed Media Center 14 and Media jukebox on this Vista Home Premium 64 for testing and Media Center 14's free demo had expired.
Now I have tried in every way possible to "uninstall" both media Center 14 and media jukebox and it will not.
Not from the "Uninstall file" in the program
Nor from "Windows Uninstall or change a program"
Nor from CCleaner's Uninstall program feature.
What gives?
Either way it just gives the usual "Windows needs your permission" prompt, which I click yes, then nothing happens.
ever.
I would like to upgrade the living room HTPC from Media jukebox to Media Center 14 but now I am somewhat leery.
Am I missing something?? what could it possibly be???
I have tried this many many times with no results.

I have never seen that problem, but you could try to run the actual uninstaller "as administrator".
MC14: Find the JRMediaUninstall.exe file in the program location, right-click it and select "run as administrator".
MJ12: I don't have MJ12 installed on this PC, but probably it has a similar file in its program location.

It may be a permissions issue. Try running as administrator.

Thanks guys,
I did all that.
This is the most perplexing thing I have encountered, I just can't uninstall by any means.
-
Have you tried reinstalling and then uninstalling?
Maybe part of the uninstaller has become corrupt.
-
Did you delete the files by hand? That could cause problems, but Chriz' suggestion is good. Install again.
Make sure you have admin rights.

Definately try the reinstall/uninstall idea. If that fails, though, I could probably write up a manual removal procedure for you.
This SHOULDN'T have happened though. I suspect that you have some other issues on that system. Perhaps a faulty drive, malware, or a borked Windows installation.

or someone ran an 'msi cleanup' utility blindly.
I would re-install both MC and JB then run a deinstall afterwards.
