Is there a way to get MediaCenter to recognizes the default PowerDVD settings and use DVD-Audio playback instead of always reverting back to DVD-Video when a HiRes DVD-Audio disc is inserted? I am suprised it does not already work this way!?

In Tools/Options/CD&DVD, check the settings for "Autoplay". This may not solve your problem completely, but it will help.
Then set the File Associations for the filetype to whatever you want. MC should be able to play the files. What extension are they?

They are .aob extension in the AUDIO_TS folder of the DVD. PowerDVD recognizes the disc as a hi-rez DVD-Audio disc and play correctly. MediaCenter sees the disc and starts but always loads the DVD-Video layer which is compressed audio.
