is there a way to stop the mouse wheel from adjusting the volume?
For those of us with SPDIF outputs, the volume must be left at maximum for bit streaming to work without any re-sampling. However, since the mouse wheel is often inadvertently touched, the volume often gets moved around unintentionally thus effecting the bit-stream process.
can there be a simply setting to disable mouse wheel volume adjust? ?

The mouse wheel only adjusts volume when the cursor is over the volume slider.
Maybe you're using special mouse software. Try uinstalling it.
