I just rebuilt my HTPC with all new hardware. I plan to use MC exclusively as my media program. I want to use the madVR (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=146228) high quality video renderer. I can use graphedit and add the renderer as a filter. However, I am not able to select it in MC. Is the renderer selection based on available directshow filters, or is it a list that is programmed into MC?

We use an internal list. I would be happy to add madVR to the list.

Thanks. :)

I'm having trouble registering MadVR. Any help, JMone et al? I'm afraid of being laughed at by the Doom9 people! I've tried running the install.bat as admin, but to no avail.

Yeah you have to pose your questions just right over there. Anyway the Install.bat file is not the best either change it to something like:
"C:\PATH_OF_THE_INSTALL_FILES\InstallFilter" "C:\PATH_OF_THE_INSTALL_FILES\madVR.ax"
or run a DOS prompt, go to the directory you have the files in and just run --> InstallFilter madVR.ax
Both need to be run as an administrator.

Also no way of using it in MC yet....

Thanks for the tips jmone. :)
EDIT: It worked!

So how is it looking (I'm away at the moment)! Can you post a filter list?
-
For anyone who has tried madVR, does it look really better?
Osho

Has anyone got madVR working with MC?
-
Support for madVR has been added with version 14.0.137. However, I still can't seem to get it to work with MC14 even if I select it as the default video renderer (for File Type MKV). With madVR set as the default, MC14 uses VMR9. With the video renderer set to Automatic, MC14 uses EVR.
