Media Jukebox 8.0.316 is available:
ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/MediaJukebox8.exe
Please back up your library and your license (version 7 licenses only; version 8 licenses can be restored from our web page -- see the FAQ for more info).
History:
1. Fixed: Media Jukebox was not accepting files dragged and dropped from external application into CD Burner window.
2. Fixed: Media Jukebox would crash when File properties menu was accessed.
3. Fixed: Media Jukebox was giving wrong names to cover art retrieved from Internet.
4. NEW: Media Jukebox will associate a file with an image during import if an image for an artist is located in image folder.
5. NEW: Download Manager now supports parsing of HTML pages and download all media files listed on a page.

This is absolutely, positively the last one. We really mean it this time. Really.
-
uh huh
-
No, I don't think so. I bet you will find that something is wrong with it.

Hey, as long as your fixing things and adding features, you go ahead and release all the betas you want!
-
Are the DSP functions beefed up? I had to go down to half volume to stop my speakers from buzzing. Thrumming is more like it. It's good, though. Gives us more range of operation.

Bug.
If "Clear Recently Imported Playlist on Exit" is enabled and there are no recently imported items, clicking on the "Recently Imported" icon shows ALL of the songs in ALL playlists.
-
The Filename rule is still messed up when ripping CD's. MJ uses the Album Artist as the Artist name when creating files. My file names still start with "Various Artist" when ripping soundtrack albums.
Various Artist should be used only with the Directory Rule.
-
If I re-install the latest build and restore my license, would my "restore times" become fewer? That means I just have 5 times left?
MJ staff please tell me
-
Lucy-
You don't need to restore your license just for doing a re-install of MJ. You only need to restore if you wipe out (format) your disk.

Chico,
File naming problem will be fixed in next build.

Thanks Nikolay,
Would be nice to have both Album Artist and Artist as an option in the pull down menu for both Directory rule and Filename rule.

Does anybody have problems with renaming files from properties?
MJ returns an error message saying something like "the file(s) are in use, read-only or tagging has been disabled".
Tell me if I’m wrong but "tagging" is this option, right?:
Options -> General -> Importing & Tagging -> Update tags when file info changes
And if it is - I tried both on and off - doesn’t work.
Also I checked that the files are not read-only - and I had no problems moving them manually.
I tried going back to an older version (8.0.302) didn’t help me.
Last weekend I made a new installation (meaning new not updating or reinstalling) of winXP and I’ve had the problem since that.
Does anybody now of this problem or is it only me?
-
I went back to trying and I can ad this – There is no problem renaming the file, its only when I try to move the files into directories I get the error?
-
Tinitus,
What's your Tag Saving settings under Plug-In Manager > Input > MP3 Plugin & Configure button?
Also, Nikolay...on that same dialog, why does the caption bar say "MP3 Remove Tag Mode"? Doesn't seem too 'right'.
-
Hi ZR
under "Tag Saving" both is set to: "Save (create if nessecary)"
"Tag Analysis": "Ignore ID3v2 tags during analysis" is unchecked?
*What does the "Z" in rocker stand for?*

Zoolander (Blue Steel)....hahaha.

>> Does anybody have problems with renaming files from properties?
it is not perfict.
and the semi fix to not allow duplicate file name \ renaming prior to release i kind of thought was wrong.
where MJ tells you that two files exist with the same properties, this is something i have been saying for along time what happened to (1).Mp3 (2).Mp3 etc...
don't stop me from renaming just because it is a dup, many good \ great songs have many versions of the same song from the same artist.
how ever make sure your not playing a file and try to rename, or rename and move the file.
this is still one problem in MJ (I think) That Has Been There Since Version 7.
-
Hi King
>>how ever make sure your not playing a file and try to rename, or rename and move the file.
Thank You But I'm Not And It Dosnt Matter If Its One Or More Files.
-
can you explain step by step what your doing, since the above what you said on your first message is not how you rename.
maybe your doing something that has not been cought yet.
1. mark file
2. go to properties
3. etc...
-
>>can you explain step by step what your doing, since the above what you said on your first message is not how you rename.
What I'm (trying to I might ad) doing is to "batch" rename files.
I'm pretty sure what I’m doing is the right way since I’ve done it many times before.
I right-click a file and choose properties. In the properties dialog I select “Tools” and choose “Rename files from properties”.
Then I get the dialog “Rename files using files properties”.
Now, the funny thing is that if I leave the directories box unchecked and only use file-renaming everything works just dandy – but then when I try to move the file(s) also all I get is complaining and error dialogs.

Tinitus,
What values are you using for Base path and Directory Rule?
Nikolay
-
>>What values are you using for Base path and Directory Rule?
Base path: ARTIST\ALBUM
Directory Rule: ARTIST - NAME
-
>>What values are you using for Base path and Directory Rule?
What I meant to say was
Directory Rule and Base path: ARTIST\ALBUM
Filename Rule: ARTIST - NAME
-
Directory Rule and Base path are different boxes. Are you leaving Base Path empty? if Yes then that's the problem.
Nikolay
-
Base path should be something like "c:\music"
