Salud Zevele,
Thank you! I thought to say we like fireworks, but that isn't quite right (in the sense you mean). We are not afraid is truer. We have seen plenty of crazy things. It's hard to wound our spirit.
Happy Fourth of July to Our Friends Around The World.

Yonaton,
To wish to all yankees on this forum a good and happy 4th of july
Thank you.
You might want to know that "yankee" from a non-American is viewed as an Ok name but from another American, things tend to get regional sometimes.
In other words: Born and raised in Southeast US = not a Yankee
Born and raised in the United States = a yankee.
I have always been one but us Southerners confuse the hell out of me.
Like, I met this fellow today that seemed like a good, decent and reasonably intelligent guy. To my suprise, that good, decent and reasonably intelligent mouth started spewing the most vile racist garbage. I would like to say this was a suprise as well as a disappointment but it has happened several times before. Like I say, Southerners confuse the hell out of me.
CVIII
Where did all that come from? I just meant to say "Thank You" and the rest exploded out.

Confusion knows no boundaries, no North or South.
-
My favorite Southerner has a last name of COMFORT. Ever run into that one?
-
Thanks Zevele.
MachineHead,
Yup. I met him/her/it my first time out! Then spent some time with my dear Old Grandad. Things were Black & Red for a while, then I got bitten by a Red Dog. Now days, I just chill with my buddy Weiser.
A happy holiday to all as well!

Let me also wish all Americans a safe, happy 4th of July. This comes from one of Lise's compatriots.

I know that yankee can have some segregationiste 'smell'
I used it as french do,a friendly way to call you
Maybe was better to use "ricains" but in this case need to explain
americans=americains in french
'ricains' is very friendly,to the point you would not use ricains if you want to say something negative about them
Anyway ,CELEBRATE..
It is a close day?You are of?
